Belize International Film Festival rocks Belize

Friday night, the Belize International Film Festival rocked it out at the Bliss Institute in celebration of the opening red carpet and screening. For five years, the Festival has seen celebrities, both national and international, strut down the red carpet along with screenwriters, producers, directors, and film fans. This year was no different and everyone decked out in their best wear lined up and walked down the red carpet. Angela Gegg and William Neal were the gracious hosts of the night and welcomed everyone to the event.

On Ambergris Caye, the red carpet was rolled out for the island’s event, a White Party. Everyone dusted off their white clothing and arrived looking splendid for the night. Islanders danced perched high in the dark skies, draped in white, welcomed everyone to the “tropical” event. Mingling before the event, Reef Village’s Paradise Theater proved to be the perfect venue. The smell of popcorn wafted through the air and soon enough the movie premier of SKIN in Belize was underway. After welcoming speeches by Diane Haylock, President of the National Institute of House and Culture along with Suzette Zayden, Festival Coordinator, along with actor Daryl Mitchell of House Party fame, who encouraged those in attendance to continue supporting Belize’s budding film industry.

Following the movie everyone rendezvoused to Reef Village’s pool side where the official White Party took place. Promotional drinks were provided by Traveler’s Liqours while The Palm restaurant provided delicious hors’dourves. A fantastic night enjoyed by all.

The Film Festival now moves to Ka’ana Resort:

Pictures of the event to be uploaded after the event.
