Solaria

Solaria

The great thing about travelling around Belize is not only being able to see all the beauty this country has to offer, but it’s particularly fun to explore my home on Ambergris Caye further. My girlfriend and I were invited to stay at the Solaria recently, and I was for sure super excited to get back up to the north end of the Island. It ‘s so peaceful and tranquil north of town, it’s a nice escape, yet you are just a 12 minute water taxi ride back in.

Solaria, which is 3.5 miles of town, offers an exceptional location as it’s neighbour is Rendezvous restaurant, which is a true culinary treat. You are also just a 20 minute bike ride to Rojo Lounge, which is a must to visit as the food, and atmosphere is one of the Islands best. If you wanted to bike into town, the ride is fantastic, and would probably take you about 40 minutes, that is if you didn’t make some pit stops at all the bars along the way in.

The Villas of Solaria consist of 3 private homes, but only two of these homes are available to the public. Each 5000 sq. ft home offers a spacious layout, consisting of 4 bedrooms, each with it’s own private balcony and lavish ensuite. The stylish interiors boast rich slate floors, Belizean hardwood circular staircase that brings you each distinct level of the home. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped so you can enjoy dining in, and the open concept layout brings a harmonious flow to the spacious living and dining room.

Each home also offers AC, ipod docking stations, free wifi, plus a cell phone with a $20 phone credit with must have numbers, 2 bicycles, and snorkelling gear all free to use at your leisure.

We stayed in Solaria 1 which was located at the front of the property, this home offers a commanding deck that overlooks the crystal waters of the Caribbean and the reef. This would be the perfect home to rent with a few couples, as the home is ideal for large groups and entertaining.

Solaria 3 stands at the back of the property with stunning lagoon views, private hot tub, and all the same luxury as its sister home.

The homes are managed by Absolute Belize, a full service concierge owned and operated by the lovely Rachael Eteson, who will ensure all your needs are met. If you require shopping and stocking of previsions, to booking diving, excursions, she will handle all requests, and the service she provides is one of the best on the island.

The rates are between $800.00 – $1500.00USD / night depending on the villa, and season. It is advised to book your vacation here well in advance so we can ensure you get your villa of choice.
